The Great Destash Giveaway ( winner announced)

Seems like forever ago now that is started cleaning my sewing room!  I am getting closer to where I am satisfied with what I have and where it is all placed ( meaning I can walk in my room and not trip over piles any longer). I had mentioned a destash giveaway on instagram and there was plenty of support so here is the first...

This giveaway is a  STUNNING Dear Stella fat quarter bundle and two spools of Aurifil thread, the orange spool is 50wt #5001 and the green spool is 40wt #2240.

Thank you everyone!  Loved reading all the plans for the summer! More snow and school delays here.

Congratulations to

One summer we went to Pensacola for a model railroader convention for my husband.

Weeks in advance, I emailed the Pensacola area quilt guild for "stores I shouldn't miss while there". I took my sewing machine and all my supplies.

I had a mini retreat while my husband did his thing and then we ate out at night!!!

It was awesome. I need to ask him when/where the next model railroader thing is. ;)

I usually visit the family in Thailand, although I managed to get a great deal of quilting in last summer as well (I don't think it's quite fair to convince the parents to buy a sewing machine that would only be used by me for a few weeks a year). This year, I'm going with quilting - back at the books, so really lacking the time for the number of projects that are backing up in my mind and on my sketch pad. Hopefully we'll be in a position to start looking for our first real home by then as well! I've specified that I'm not even considering anything that doesn't have a dedicated sewing room, or hopefully, entire floor.
Thanks for de-stashing!

What a nice giveaway. I'm from Holland and we are going to visit Florida in the summer holiday's. So I'm very exited to go. Visiting uneversal studio's, the everglades, Key West, Miami.

During summer holidays we go camping and swimming. My children wish that we did more of both but we have to work around jobs and the weather - too hot and it is no fun in a tent!!

I've never really had a summer vacation since I went to summer camp as a kid. If there's a family event out of town, we'll maybe go a day early and/or stay an extra day. And I always check out any quilt shops I might come across along the way, of course. -- soparkaveataoldotcom

We're planning a bunch of day trips and maybe a long weekend at the beach. We've just installed a large pool and the novelty hasn't worn off yet!

We stay at home when on vacation and golf in the morning, and go boating in the afternoon. Thanks!
