The bright colors and dots on every piece is amazingly clever! This is a layer cake folded to get the photo!

Oh My Goodness!  Look at all of the COLOR!!!!!

For the icing on this non fat, sugar free, DELICIOUS giveaway cake...

And Aurifil Color Card!  This card has 270 STUNNING thread samples to make a perfect selection every time!

Are you ready to play?

One very lucky winner will receive 25 spools of Aurifil thread ( colors and weights as shown) , Hey Dot by Zen Chic for Moda ( as shown) and one color card!

What a milestone! I'm 44 on the 12th and wish I could go back to my late teens and tell myself that I shouldn't care one whit about what anyone else thinks. Just take care of yourself and LIVE! Travel, dance more, etc... What would you want to tell your younger self?

Happy birthday, Kim. Enjoy. So generous of you to offer a giveaway to celebrate. My favorite birthday memory is probably when my eldest child implored his father to take him to a quilt store so he could choose a piece of fabric to wrap my birthday gift in. I had always used bags for gifts. So lovely that my young son "saw" what his mom liked. He was probably 8 then and now the kids continue to wrap my gifts in fabric.

My favorite birthday memory is actually for my grandfather's 90th. We made a tiered cake and put 90 candles on it. By the time we got mostly finished lighting candles the side if the cake was burning. Happy 50th!

Happy Birthday! My 50th was quite some time ago and I had not even considered sewing or quilting at that point - I did not even own a sewing machine back then. I recently started to self-learn to quilt and joined the Splendid Sampler QAL. That was where I discovered you and your blog. I have to say that I LOVE the way that you photograph your SS Blocks and those used for the blog. They are so very colourful and artistic.

No way, 50? Happy birthday! I'll be 38 in two weeks!
What delicious colors!
One of my favorite birthdays was in college. I spent the summer term living in student language dorms, in an intensive Spanish program. At the end of the term, a trip to Mexico was planned. My birthday was in the middle of this trip, as was two other girls' in our group. Our hosts threw a dance party, and honored us at the party. The next day was Sunday, and after attending church services with our host families, my host family had a huge family dinner, and surprised me with a wonderful Mexican-style cake and singing for my birthday. The silly thing was, someone grabbed my camera and took pictures, but the family was singing and clapping so loudly, a hand got in the way, and you can't actually see the cake in front of me in the picture!! No do-overs back then, with film! Ha ha! But it was fun birthday and a fun trip.

Happy Birthday! One of my favorite birthday memories is being at my niece's house and her son who was about five made me a birthday card. This year for my birthday he sent me a handwritten note wishing me a happy birthday and saying he hoped I'd visit soon. He signed for his older sister and himself but tacked on a "your favorite" next to his name. Such a charmer!

We didn't have a lot of cleaning to do, they just wanted me along for the surprise. They came home with us and we all celebrated my birthday.

It is hard to believe we are past 50 in the Splendid Sampler. My most meaningful one was Lots o Love. I'd love to win. I even had a block put out on my birthday - Pencils, I am new to quilting and some of these techniques are hard for me and I'm glad so many designers are giving us permission to be happy and do what makes us happy. It is not to be stressful.
