I am happily in LOVE with my new Christmas pillow!!! I used the free pattern from Tula Pink to make this scrappy fun addition to my holiday decor!!!!!
I also learned something NEW!!!! One of the things I love most about learning to sew is trying new ideas. I realized that you can print on Pellon Wonder Under!!!!! It works just like freezer paper and now I do not have to trace ANYTHING!!!!! This a a bonus for me since I cannot draw a straight line with a ruler ;o)
Cut your Wonder Under the size of your paper
On my printer I put the bumpy side up
Prints out PERFECTLY!!!!!
Then you have your perfect little shapes and NO Tracing!!!! My friend Lisa at That Crazy Quilty Girl says do not do it on a laser printer...something about a HOT MESS!!!!!
When I had all the pieces ironed on , I outlined with Aurifil 28wt in black. To make it look more like snow I used Aurifil 40wt 2311 and a little bit of fmq and I think I found the effect I was looking to achieve!
Not perfect quilting but I am happy I had a practice run on this before starting a larger project.
Adam helped me do the BIG Swirls on the back, poor guy was so sick and REALLY wanted to help so he sat on my lap and we quilted :o) I am a very lucky mama!!!
This makes me SMILE!!!!!
