Nancy Zieman Christmas Stocking Sewing Challenge!

If you have not heard, Nancy Zieman is hosting a Christmas Stocking Sewing Challenge!

It has been a few years since I have made new Christmas stockings for the kids.  They are getting older and soon will not be very impressed that I can make them stockings any longer so I decided ( after some gentle nudging from a friend) to make new stockings!

This is my first one!  I used the new fabric Nordic Stitches by Wenche Wolff Hatling  from Northern Quilts for Moda Fabrics. The reds are so perfect!  The perfect red is always difficult to find.  These reds are really amazing for the very traditional red and white cathedral windows.

Cathedral windows are simple to make and can be used in any project!  For the stitching, I used Aurifil 50wt and a 2.9 stitch length on my Bernina.

Red and white makes my heart sing!  For my easy Cathedral window pincushion tutorial ( if you have never made one) please visit here.  The pincushions are a fantastic starting point to learning how to make these easy beautiful blocks!

If you are looking for more Christmas project tutorials,  please check out some of my other tutorials I have made in the past few years!

The Retro Rockin Tree Skirt is made using Drunkard's Path and can be made using a Accuquilt or templates!  There is a bonus mug rug pattern too!

Tutorial is available here

The Peppermint Candy Cushion Cover is fun and also easy to make!  It is a favorite in this house.

The tutorial for this block can be found here. The tutorial for the envelope back can be found here.

This Christmas tree cushion was made with the scraps from another project, Aurifil 50wt and the decorative stitches on my Bernina.

You can read more about how to make this simple project here.

Looking forward to seeing your Christmas Stockings!
