I am very blessed that I still have living grandmothers. One will be 92 in May and I thought it would be nice to make a quilt for her. She is a tiny ( I think she may be 4-11 in her heels) real Southern lady that growing up would have tea with me and run me out of the formal living room. She is now in a care facility and I thought a bright colorful quilt on her birthday might be nice.
I bought these charms a bit ago not knowing what I would use them for.
My original idea for her quilt was to use my Dado's flannel shirts.
He had passed some time ago and I thought there might still be some in the house somewhere.
Sadly, they are all gone. I thought this would be a good alternative and my sister said as long as it is pastel she will like it!!!!! My sister is older and always right so I went with it.
I was able to finish the quilt top this past weekend and I am really liking the colors.
Very simple and lovely.
I was working on the quilt back this morning and then I noticed something kinda funny... my breakfast shake looked like the fabric. Strawberries, banana, spinach and whey protein...
I knew it was a good sign ;o)
I was able to get started in on the quilting and then my arthritis kicked in :o(
I am hoping tomorrow it will be gone and I can finish and have this off to my Weece in time!!!!
I think it is so pretty in the light!!!!!
When I was shooting it outside, an inchworm decided he liked it too :o)
Who knew inchworms had such good taste????
Kim :o)

I love "Dream On". I have a charm pack too that I'm making my 3 year old a quilt with. And that inchworm is way too cute on there! This quilt is beautiful!
omg, that photo with the inchworm is to die for! so sweet of you to make a quilt for your grandma!
What!!! I thought you said you needed a break after the Heather Ross quilt, I had no idea you were starting this (and almost finished!!!! eeek!!!) so soon!! When are you sleeping, lol!!
I love all the posts on your blog, your pictures really tell a great story! I'm really jealous, lol. I try to think of a variety of pictures to take when I'm preparing a post, but I can never think of anything besides the usual shots, know what I mean?
WOW...that inch worm photo is really cool...!!
Your grandma is going to love this quilt...it is so bright and pretty! I love the quilting you decided to do on that.
Are those shakes good? I have always wanted to get in the habit of making a shake similar to that, on a daily basis. I don't have any kind of blender, though, I suppose I would have to start with that, lol!!
I love those colors. I love how the fabric has a vintagey feel. I think that's a beautiful present for your grandma.
This quilt will be gorgeous for your Grandma. She will love it! So bright and cheery! Sorry about your arthritis! That is a big fat bummer! Healthy breakfast!!!
Aww, you are so sweet and I'll bet she loves it! Hope your arthritis gets better soon. I know how awful joint pain can be :(
Gorgeous! When we were kids my mom always said than when an inch worm landed on us we were being "fitted" for something new. Looks like you'll be doing another quilt soon! LOVE all the colors! I especially LOVED how your drink matched. Made the spinach look so pretty. I'm going to add spinach to my breakfast shake today!
Such a pretty quilt! And the little worm liked it too!
Your grandmother will love it. I made my grandmother a quilt for Christmas this year and she told me she sleeps under it every night. She's 94. :) We are lucky to still have them in our lives.
I also like Dream On. I used that line to make a quilt for my daughter and she sleeps under it at night in her crib. Makes me smile to know that something we love to do makes others happy too. :)
Great quilt, and I'm loving the quilting!
Love those colors! So bright and pretty!
Beautiful quilt, however the inchworm pic should be framed. That is too cute!
She's going to love it!
You can't go wrong with Dream On. It's so happy and cheerful!! I can't get over the inchworm.
How sweet is that!!
Your grandma will love this for sure! It's absolutely beautiful.
Your breakfast shake looks yummy and healthy!
So pretty for your grandmother!
