The criss cross applesauce quilt :o)

Too cute to pass up! This is what the kids did yesterday afternoon while I was sewing like a madwoman!!!!!!

After some thunderstorms, which force me to shut off my machine, and numerous sewing mishaps that made me want to cuss like a sailor in the old Navy, I am finally finished with my grandma's quilt!!!!!!

These are the best shots I can get since Katy is in school and Adam is not tall enough :o(
This is the front

It just screams SPRING to me!

The back

All rolled up and pretty. I used a solid Kona pink binding. I do not usually use a solid but I think it works beautifully with this quilt.

The final touch :o)

Now off to trim the irish pennants and wash!!!!!! I hope she likes it :o)

    Good job, Kimmy!

Need you to let me know if you sell 'em. I've been looking for an Amish quilt because they're made by hand but haven't found a design I like yet. Would rather spend money on a friend...

  3. So lovely! How did you mark your lines for the quilting? They are so straight! Love it! I made a quilt for my daughter using the same fabric. :)

  12. Thank so much!!!! It is officially in the mail to her!!!!!

I will do a post about the quilting in a week or two, I *have* to finish up a couple more things before starting something else. It is really easy to do just time consuming ( at least for me since I have my sweetie pie Adam asking for something every second and a half).

  15. WOW!!! This is really a testament to some beautiful quilting. It looks so wonderful! I am always in a hurry to do the quilting portion, since I don't really like doing it, and I would rather take the easiest way out, but after seeing the quilt top before, it takes your quilt to a whole new level. I am sure she will love it, you did such a great job! :-) I am looking forward to seeing your 'tutorial' on how you did it, heehee :-)
