I finished the skirt!!!!! I did the godets, the invisible zipper and something about yokes but there were no eggs involved. Sewing terminology is a foreign language to me and I am sure it will be for quite some time. This was not difficult to make once I translated it into my sewing language which is, take part A place it on Part B and Sew! My sister, who has been sewing for years told me to not ever buy Simplicity patterns. She told me this after the skirt was done so it was a little too late. I used Alexander Henry Kilo, I really love this fabric!!! Katy said ( before it was finished) that it looked like and apron and the in house engineer said " Well, that is bright!" Thanks for your support people...
The front
The back
Me falling off the shoes that are WAYYYYYY too high for me.
Pellon sent me this really cool interfacing to try and I have to say, it is AMAZING! Easy to work with and has a very nice feel to it. It gives just the right amount of support to the fabric without being too stiff. Great job Pellon!!!!! Two thumbs UP!
And I just discovered that Alexander Henry is making cotton lawn...EEeeeeeep! I want my next skirt to be made with this one! Looks like it is going to be a skirt filled summer!!!!

It looks great on you. I'm half way through a dress at the moment and I think my summer may be filled with making new outfits too.
Cute skirt!
It looks awesome! Have I converted you to skirts? You better link this up as soon as I get my post up!!
Wow Kim. It looks fabulous!!
Congratulations! It looks fantastic.
oh man! It turned out great!
I think the skirt is lovely. How did you decide what size to use. I always seem to have trouble getting the right size.
The skirt is adorable! So which pattern company does your sister use?
You look adorable! I'm betting that cute little skirt will be a summer staple. Well done! :)
Skirts are always fun..just not too fun to make in my opinion. Seamstress I am not:)
I like the bright colors of yours!!
that's quite a hot ass you got there! Great job!
You are just beautiful and so is your skirt!
Well done, you look great and your skirt does too!!! Alexander Henry rocks on!!!
I might just have to try a skirt now. Yours looks great!
GORGEOUS -- love that print, pattern, and the beautiful model!
As predicted it looks absolutely faaaabulous...
That skirt looks fabulous! Great job. I'm sure you'll get a lot of wear out of that one!
Aw! Simplicity patterns aren't too bad! I will admit to heavily googling the first time I used one, but now I know much shorter names for all of the tricks I was already using.
I'm glad you posted pics of the finished skirt so we could check it out. Looks great!
The skirt looks great and it doesn't look anything like an apron!
cute skirt and great fit. did you need alterations on the pattern?
why did you sister say to not use simplicity? i use the same bust alterations on simplicity that i use on every other pattern and i get a great fit. i have a very big bust and the alteration is complex, so now i'm curious.
The skirt definitely pops! What view did you make it? Looks great on you!
