Little happy things

I had been hand sewing little hexagons when sitting at tennis lessons and school parent pick up lines and did not know what to do with them. They sat in a bag all lonely and waiting for a project to be a part of...in walks this sweet thing from Wild Olive ( super cute and EASY embroidery patterns)...and I knew where the hexies belonged!!!!

A PINCUSHION!!!!!  One can never have too many pincushions!!!!

I used Aurifil 12 wt wool for the red and 12 wt mako for the green, black and blue embroidery, I used 50wt for the rest of the stitching. I wanted to make sure that none of the stuffing came out so I used Pellon Craft Fuse behind the embroidery and unfortunately, you can see on the bottom pink hexi, I made a mistake and much like the rule of not wearing striped undies under white shorts ( lived this one last week) I should have paid MORE attention to the fabric showing through...GAH! Live and learn...

I still LOVE my new pinnie!!!!!!
