and with the help of a Joanns 40%off sale I bought my first OLFA rotary blade! I am IN LOVE...helps with my arthritic issues so much! I should have had one of these LONG ago!!!! Wishing I had gotten the 60 instead of the 45 but I am so thrilled at how much easier it is to cut fabric I am not going to whine!
This was the progress Sunday morning
The in house engineer said he was not loving the busy blocks so to keep the love I broke the blocks up and this is where I am now...I had to staple Pellon batting to the wall to hold all the blocks,LOL! It is seven feet wide and REALLY long. I am going to do something fun but I am still deciding what that fun will be...
Have you been working on your #scrappytripalong blocks?

Rotary cutter are fantastic! I went Sunday and bought a blade refill pack while they were on sale and the 25% off purchase coupon was available as well.
The scrappy trip is looking great!
Looking gooooooood Kim!
What in the world have you been cutting with? Rotary cutters are a geat invention, if I had to use sissors I might not have every started quilting. Love the scrappy block and arrangement. You go girl.
whoop whoop for scraps:)'
time to get crackin' on those strips once I get off here and do my Lucky Stars BOM for Jan.!!!;)
I love the pops of yellow in there!
Impressed with your fast progress!
I haven't got started yet but have the fabric I want to do it with!
What have you been cutting with?
I love this quilt, it is on my "someday" list! I am amazed that you haven't used a rotary cutter before! It is a wonderful tool. I stock up on blades each Dec at JOann's during their sales.
I just started a new scrappytipalong yesterday -- I'd forgotten how much fun those are!
Love your quilt.... and I actually like the busy of it!
Love your blocks and cutter - I changed the blade on mine when I got to scrappytrip block 30 - why oh why didn't I change it sooner!!!?
Looking fab! I love my cutter like that, I have the smaller one too, which is great on curved templates and things
Lookin' good!
Amazing. I gotta do this when I finish Bonnie Hunter's latest mystery.
Love all the progress you have made. You got a lot more done than I have so far. I figured out fabrics then yesterday I started cutting and sewing enough for th efirst few blocks. And last night I got them cut into tubes so far. So hopefully today I can start assembeling some blocks. I will still have tons more to cut and sew and assemble but I want to do a few at a time. I can't think that far ahead to cut as much as you have. I lov emy rotary cutter. I really would like the small sized one. Maybe one day. I do not have any local fabric stores and have to drive either an hour or 2 in any direction for fabrics are supplies. I am mainly sewing from my stash these days.
I must be with the house engineer, because the 'busyness' of them all together drives me a bit batty, and I can enjoy the blocks the way you separated them. I wouldn't have thought of that myself, and was not sure if I should attempt the TripAlong [due to the 'busyness' issue]. Thanks for the pics and the new perspective for moi. :)
Great fabrics and it looks like you are having fun. That is actually my favorite size of rotary cutter.
I like how you pulled them apart. It gives a bit of calm to the quilt. Good thinking in-house engineer!
love your trip!!! but i'm curious-- how have you been cutting your fabric pre-rotary cutter? I love my rotary cutter for nearly everything!
I love your version. My version is going to end scrappy trip along scrap vomit. I am not liking my fabric scraps but at least I am using them up and the left over fabric will be a scrap vomit :)
