Better Late Than Never

Yesterday was Wednesday and I completely forgot about WIP Wednesday!

A day late but here are some of my blocks for the 100 Days 100 Blocks sew along happening on Instagram!

I decided to make two sets.  The first is a color block set, it has also turned out to be a fussy cut collection.  Not sure how much longer I can find fussy cuts in my stash but the challenge is pretty fun. The plan ( I use that word loosely) is to have 10 blocks in each of the colors in my stash for the full quilt.

I am learning as I go that I have a TON of pink in my stash and also purple.  The red in my stash is lacking and gray is almost non existent. It is interesting to see what I have and what I do not have.  I have so much more of colors that are not my favorites.

The second set is made completely from garments, mostly men's button down shirts, that I have purchased from the thrift store or found around the house.  This set also has an added personal challenge.  I have been making some of the blocks with added log cabins, made fabric or other techniques to add an element of surprise and a level of difficulty for me.

I enjoy shaking things up and making them my own.

This adventure has been great for sparking creativity!  It is also a fantastic skill builder.  I am learning so much as I sew along!

What are you working on this week?

I love the yellow honey bee fabric with the cute bee in scarf. Do you remember the name of the fabric? It's really adorable. Love your color sets too. I'm inspired. THanks, Pam Kish
