WIP Wednesday Tula Pink City Sampler Blocks

Over the hump!  The #100Days100Blocks is officially over the 50 mark and is well on its way to 60 by the end of the week!  Gnome Angel is hosting this fun sewing along on Instagram using the book City Sampler 100 Modern Blocks by Tula Pink.

Every block is a simple 6 inch finished block.  When making them, I recommend using a scant 1/4inch seam and Aurifil 50wt thread. The Aurifil 50wt will decrease any bulk in the seam resulting in a perfect seam and a flat block!

The blocks in this sampler are perfect as a skill builder.   I also have been enjoying the ability to use fussy cuts everyday!

The blocks now number over 100 in the go-go sewing studio!   I am making two sets of the 100 blocks.  The first set is the fussy cut set.  There are so many blocks, I will share the second set on Thursday.

This block is my absolute favorite from this past week.  It was Saturday "walking the dog and paper reading."

This one is fun with the gridlock traffic!

The birdcages are so simple and lovely!

When I am not sewing, chasing kids or painting, I am cooking.  Cooking is a true love for me!  The change in season has me now in the mood for baking!  This will make everyone very happy!

One day...hopefully not too far in the future... my dream is to have chickens!  Katy is completely in agreement that this should happen sooner than later!

The rain finally went away but not without these stylist hi/lo rain boots!

Finally, this measuring tape paired with Denyse Schmidt Katie Jump Rope and Dear Stella dots has a lovely vintage look!
