Not gonna lie, it was a right pain in the arse! I took on 2016 as a personal life challenge. I will not be sad to see it go. Life challenges are hard work. Hard work has never been something that bothered me, in fact, I like to work hard. I love the sense of accomplishment that comes with a job well done. But the amount of work that was required this past year was somewhat exhausting. But I did it! I made it to the end of 2016!
To end the year simply, I finished a pouch for my daughter I had started a couple of years ago. Not a massive project but a simple one that had me at wits end because I could not figure out the best way to see embroidery lines on black fabric.
Here is my end to 2016. A WIP that I was bale to complete! I am happy with the results even if the process of getting to this point was frustrating.
The lining is just perfect!
The quilting is super tiny! I quilted using Aurifil 50wt, topstitched with my FAVORITE 28wt and constructed with 40wt!
I loved the quilting! Tiny pebbles and swirls!
I didn't use a pattern, I swagged the size and just made it my own.
The best part is the vintage zipper. The blue is perfect!
Without much fanfare, this is my end of the year. It is my small way to celebrate taking something difficult and re thinking it to make it manageable and rather beautiful!
HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! I look forward to making 2017 EVEN BETTER!!!!
Happy New Year to you as well, Kim. I hope it is full of wonder and joy and sewing/quilting! :)
