I never thought I'd wake up today!
This week I have been sewing but is sadly is nothing I can share. It will be from Pat Sloan's newest fabric collection with Moda and I cannot wait for it to be completed....SO SWEET!
There have also been changes in my sewing room. I am slowly ( snail's pace) figuring out what works for me and what does not. I donated about 3 bags full of fabric to a local organization and have been looking for inexpensive ways to keep my sewing necessities in view, in reach and still look good!
I was in World Market and had paid for my stuff ( no idea what I bought) and I saw this in the clearance section on my way out. I just happened to have an Aurifil spool in my purse ( don't we all carry our own just in case?) and it was a perfect fit! It is actually a wine rack and it was $17. So I nabbed it and it rang up for $13!!! SCORE!!!!
Standing up, this is how it looks and it fits perfectly on top of my cutting table!
I also had to go to Target ( the $150 store) and found this really cool rack! For $22 it is just what I have been looking for to store my rulers that seem to be taking over way more space than they ought to be!
And this is the photo that has CONVINCED me that I DO NEED to paint my sewing room again. Katy is going to roll her eyes and heavy sigh at me ;o) This yellow is too green...I am thinking BLUE...very very light blue. The other thing is an ironing board cover. I am still so in love with the fabric it is just so difficult to think of anything else being on there.
So in addition to the regular links this week, I am adding one more ...
Link up a photo of a great inexpensive storage tip from your sewing room!!!
This week here is your incentive... One charm pack of Freebird and three small Aurifil spools!
Winner for this week is
Congratulations Staci!!!!

Definite score! And definitely blue :o)
oh my gosh, your new storage finds are fab! I'm embarrassed to show my sewing space as it is a constant disaster. I really need to re-organize and use my walls a little more.
Love your new thread holder, perfect.
Your wine/thread rack is fantastic. I'm so jealous!
Great linkup - I'm glad I found you! I'll put it on my sidebar along with the other weekly linkups I follow :-)
And you loot is pretty fun too!
Love your new storage solutions and am seriously drooling over your Aurifil collection!
envy flowing from me both for the wine/thread rack and the ruler rack, certainly very good bargains and as you say if things out out on display they are so easy to find. No good buys from me so cannot enter in the draw hang on i was given an elna little machine the other day probably will not understand how to enter but will re track to the instructions
sorry got the wrong end of the stick, excuse my confusion, something to do with age I fear!
Nice corner and great giveaway :-)
I am so going to Target to look for the shelf. I need to better organizing my growing ruler stash!
I really like, no love, how you repurposed items. I try to do the same thing; but, it is difficult for me to imagine things at times.
Love your thread storage! I hope you like mine, I need to keep mine in a drawer, there is so much dust around here, I'm a better sewer than cleaner.
what great finds -- I may have to scout out the Target myself for one of those ruler holders as I to am thinking about reworking my sewing room -- meaning rulers on the wall won't work in the long term plan.
No storage tips but I was thinking of your ironing board cover. Since you love the fabric so much you could patch the scorched area or make a new pieced cover using the fabric that is still useable plus a coordinate. The fabric is so bright and cheerful, I can see why you don't want to give it up.
I love that rack for your rulers! I need a new solution for mine bc they hand where I always bump them off the teeny hook they're crammed on. I'll have to look for something neat like you have, Kim!
