Oh, this summer I won't do anything fun, because we will be having flat makeover. But wait... it's fun to do party before makeover and for example paint on the walls. Or even crush the walls (if the makeover plan includes this:).

I've no plans as yet for the summer, but as my youngest is starting school in Sept I feel that we can be a bit more adventurous and do more exploring as he's more able to cope. Trips to the beach and swimming in the sea followed by a BBQ are always a winner.

This summer will be a busy one for me. I will be moving to a new house in July and downsizing everything. Since my children are grown and on their own, there are lots of items that will be distributed to them. For the first time in 34 years of marriage I will have a sewing/craft studio in the new house. We're probably not going to do much this summer; my husband is an academic and he's got a book under contract, so he needs to finish that. We usually try to go home to Vancouver to visit family, but we won't be able to afford that this year - so I think we'll probably be home-bodies and I'll hopefully get a lot of WIPs done!

We will have our 5 yr old grandson for about 3-4 weeks this summer. He enjoys going on vacation with us ("road trip" as he calls it). We'll take him to visit family and of course do all the fun things he enjoys doing when he comes to Grammy and Poppy's house. We'll also be surprising him with a trip to Disney World with his parents near the end of August. It will be a fun summer and watching his face light up when he finds out about Disney will be PRICELESS I'm sure. His mom doesn't want to tell him about the Disney trip until they are in FL after they have met up with us at the Condo.

This summer we will be staying local, and taking a lot of day-trips. Our oldest is going to travel for a month with my in-laws (fun & a little scary because she is 13), so I will just have our 5 & 9 year-old to entertain most of the summer. We have something called "Fun Fridays" and I commit to doing something fun with them every Friday. Sometimes that means a local amusement park, beach, or aquarium, and other times, just a day at a local park. Having a set day keeps me from over-committing my summer, and not spending enough fun time with the kids. We do hope to take a trip to Portland, OR & Seattle, WA this summer, but that is still TBD. : )

amongst other things we will be freezing toys! no, really, it's one for the littlies. Get a car and put it in a cup of water and freeze, then move to a bowl and add more water. On hot days we get them out the freezer and the kids have to get the toy out, the only rule is no smashing on the patio. They can lick, rub, use a spoon to chip away, put it in the paddling pool and lots of other interesting ideas that only children can come up with!
