We don't have summer coming up- winter is on it's way here in New Zealand. A holiday in a sunny country would be wonderful, but I doubt that will happen this year. Staying at home spending time with the family is on the agenda.

This summer I am planning on trying lots of new things with my kids. So going to places we've never been, eating foods we've never tried, trying some new crafts. I think it's easy to keep doing the same old things and I want to show them that trying things out is fun, plus you might find something new you love. x

Probably the most fun kid thing we are doing this summer is gardening! My preschooler and I are growing all sorts of fun things, mostly out in a raised garden bed, but we are also growing carrots and radishes in a big clear container that used to be full of animal crackers. My husband drilled holes in the bottom for drainage, and I am going to put the sprouted radish and carrot seeds along the side so hopefully we will be able to see them growing under the dirt!

I will be quilting and spending time visiting friends and family.

When my children were young, they wanted to sell lemonade & soda to the golfers across the street from our home so we bought a large orange
Jug made up the concoctions and sell away they did. With my daughter, I would have a few girls from the neighborhood and we would do craft projects. We also would go bowling as a family and bike riding. Of course there is always summer camps, track camps, science camps. Plus we did free things such as hiking, backyard swims, etc. just get creative.
